win crown jewel headliner took place on Sunday afternoon at the

the sixth highest point total during preliminary action, Chris rolled
off from the outside of the third row in the main event, which was
cut to only 50 circuits due to tire wear concerns. The Oxford, Iowa
standout had high hopes in the big race, but unfortunately ran into
right front suspension problems and was forced to retire early in

Nebraska from July 20-24 for the annual running of the 'Silver Dollar
Nationals.' Chris Simpson started off the extended weekend in the
Cornhusker State on Wednesday with a SLMR Series battle dubbed as
the 'Prelude to the Silver Dollar Nationals.' Chris qualified twelfth
quickest in Group B during time trials, but later secured a heat
race triumph. After starting the $5,300 to win headliner from the
outside of the seventh row, Chris was unfortunately an early retiree
in the 30-lapper and paid for a twenty-seventh place performance.
On Thursday night at I-80 Speedway, the Lucas Oil

Bank Go 50,' which boasted a $12,000 payday. Chris stopped the clock
seventh fastest in Group A during qualifying, ran third in his heat
race, and later wound up twenty-ninth in the final finishing order
of the 50-lap main event. In preliminary action for the 'Silver
Dollar Nationals' on Friday, the Oxford, Iowa ace finished sixth
in his first heat race and ninth in round two. The #32 team then
opted to leave the speedway grounds and scratched from the B-Main

SIMPSON NARROWLY MISSES
OUT WITH XR AT STUART
(July
13, 2022) The Chris Simpson Racing team invaded Stuart
International Speedway in Stuart, Iowa on July 11-12 to compete
in a pair of $20,000 to win XR Super Series battles. On Monday night,
Chris Simpson unfortunately missed out on the 50-lap headliner after
finishing sixth in both his loaded heat race and his B-Main. With
another $20,000 top prize up for grabs on Tuesday evening at Stuart,
Chris was better in running fifth in his heat race and third in
his B-Main, but that was one mere position out of a coveted transfer
spot into the 50-lapper. Complete results from the last two days
at Stuart can be located online by clicking on www.racexr.com.

NO LUCK FOR SIMPSON
AGAINST LUCAS OIL FOES
(July
10, 2022) Chris Simpson and his #32 team were in action
with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from July 6-9 at Davenport
Speedway in Davenport, Iowa and Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley,
Minnesota. On the 1/4-mile Davenport oval on Wednesday, a $10,000
top prize was up for grabs in the single day showdown. Chris placed
third in his heat race prior to winding up twenty-first in the final
rundown of the 40-lap feature event.
At Deer Creek, a trio of races - that were also co-sanctioned by
the Lucas Oil MLRA Series - made up the annual running of the 'Gopher
50.' In Thursday's $5,000 to win preliminary event, Chris clicked
off the fastest lap in Group B during qualifying and won his heat
race, but a bout with the wall early in the 25-lap sprint relegated
him to a disappointing twenty-third place showing. On Friday night
in a similar $5,000 to win prelim, Chris grabbed the fourth and
final transfer spot through his heat race before a broken rear-end
relegated him to twenty-fourth in line at the pay window following
the 25-lapper.
Due to the mechanical woes and starting a little further back in
the B-Main on Saturday than desired, the Oxford, Iowa standout made
the decision to leave Deer Creek Speedway and did not compete in
Saturday's portion of the 'Gopher 50.' The $50,000 to win headliner
was ultimately won by Brandon Overton. Complete results from each
day of racing action can be found online at www.lucasdirt.com.

for the first two times in 2022 with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals
from June 16-18 in the states of Iowa and Illinois! On Thursday
night at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, Chris Simpson clicked
off the fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to securing
a victory in his heat race. After drawing the third starting spot
and leading the first fifteen circuits, Chris was in the second
position until leader Bobby Pierce dropped a driveshaft with only
six laps remaining. The Oxford, Iowa ace then took advantage of
his misfortune to lead the remainder of the 40-lapper to pocket
the $5,000 payday over Jason Feger, Ryan Unzicker, Trevor Gundaker,
and Logan Martin!
Following a day off on Friday, the #32 team rolled
into Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday
evening for another Summer Nationals showdown. Chris once again
